This collection of images from after the 1900 Storm was taken by James Water, Galveston's City Tax Accessor at that time. A notable aspect of these is the people, numerous children among them, who were captured in his lens. Scroll through for a closer look at the human component of the post-storm setting on the island.This Sunday marks the 124th anniversary of The Great Storm.
